There is this service I just found out about from GTbank and it's called GTRescue. It is a paid service they are offering that allows bank customers to withdraw money from a GTbank ATM without a plastic card i.e. it allows you to do a cardless withdrawal. I wish I knew about this service when I was cashless and stranded at a shopping mall.

I think there might be many other banks that offer this service in Nigeria but the one I'm sure about is the one offered by GTbank as it allows you to make a cash withdrawal as long as you have your bank registered phone.

So, how does it really work? Well, one way I know you can access this service is by simply dialing *737# and follow the prompts > Cardless > GTRescue.

I think they charge about N50 for it and after you've requested for a specified amount of money to withdraw, they will send you a code that you can use on an ATM to make that cardless withdrawal possible.

I believe USSD codes are a blessing for many bank customers in Nigeria ad it's making it easier for people to still meet their needs without always having to go to the bank for everything. Personally, I'm not a great fan of GTBank branches because they always seem to havea crowd during banking hours and it sure would be easier to just withdraw from an ATM in cases where I may have misplaced or am without my ATM card.

GTbank's 737 service is really wonderful and it's not just for making cashless withdrawals with their Rescue service but also for other things just as checking your account balance, transferring money and opening a bank account.
