If your bank has issued you with a Naira Visa card whether it's a debit or credit one, you can actually use it for internet shopping online in Nigeria and even use it for making payments globally anywhere Visa is accepted and it doesn't matter the currency involved.

Most visa cards issued in Nigeria have now being enabled for online use and the first thing you have to do before using it for internet payments is to activate it's Internet PIN by changing it on an ATM.

Things to do first
=============
- Visit an ATM
- Insert the card
- Select to change PIN
- Select the I-PIN
- Enter a 4 digit PIN
- Confirm it

Your Visa card has now being enabled for online use.

How to use it for making online payments
==========================
- Select items or services you want to pay for
- Proceed to checkout
- Ensure that the site is secure with an active https url
- Enter your Visa card details e.g. card number, expiry date, CVV code at back and name on card
- Enter personal details you used in getting the card
- Enter the I-PIN if required
- Confirm payment
- Your account gets debited while the merchant would get credited.

If paying for items priced in Naira, the exact amount will be debited to your account and if paying for items in other currencies like USD, GBP OR Euro, the bank's exchange rate will be used and it may be a bit higher than usual.

Personally I've used my Naira Visa card on US websites like Amazon and a Canadian website like Netfirms. It works pretty well since it has been enabled for online use.
